Berlin Incident and Aviva Travel Policy
As you will no doubt know by now, an incident occurred last night where a lorry was driven into a Christmas market in the centre of Berlin. So far 12 fatalities have been reported, with 48 people injured.
"German authorities are investigating whether there's any link to terrorism; you should remain vigilant and follow the advice of local authorities; the German police have issued a contact number, +49 30 540 23 111, for people concerned or who may have relevant information."
In the first instance they are advising customers to contact their tour operator if they no longer wish to travel.
For those customers who are in Berlin and wish to return home early, they will extend cover to allow them to return to the UK.
For those customers who are booked to travel to Berlin before the 27th of December, and no longer wish to go, they will offer a cancellation claim if their tour operator is unable to assist.
They are preparing communications to Aviva.co.uk and avivabroker.co.uk website updates.
Within Aviva they are keeping a 'watching brief' and will issue further communications if required.
